 FAQs

  • The FLORA Detox Method™ is our signature approach to lymphatic therapy. It combines manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) or Brazilian lymphatic drainage (BLD) with fascia release, guided breathwork, reflexology, and acupressure. Each treatment is tailored to support recovery, restoration, or radiance.

  • Detoxification refers to the ongoing clearance of metabolic waste, fluid, and cellular by-products through networks such as the lymphatic, glymphatic, renal, and fascial systems. The techniques used in The FLORA Detox Method™ support these natural processes by improving fluid mobility, reducing stagnation, and creating conditions in which the body can regulate itself more effectively.

Our treatments do not “detox the body” in place of its own biology. Instead, they work with the lymphatic, fascial, and nervous systems to encourage the flow and balance that underlie natural detoxification. Clients often describe feeling clearer, lighter, less congested, and more energized—outcomes directly related to improved physiological flow.

  • Lymph is a clear fluid that circulates through the body, carrying immune cells, proteins, metabolic waste, and excess fluid from tissues back into the bloodstream. It’s essentially your body’s internal “clean-up” and fluid-balance system. When lymph moves well, tissues stay healthy, hydrated, and less inflamed.

  • The lymphatic system is a network of vessels, nodes, and organs that helps regulate fluid balance, immune function, and inflammation. It collects excess fluid from tissues, filters it through lymph nodes, and returns it to the bloodstream. Because it doesn’t have a pump like the heart, it relies on movement, breath, muscle activity, and hands-on techniques to keep lymph moving efficiently.

  • Lymphatic therapy is a hands-on technique designed to stimulate lymph flow and support the body’s natural drainage pathways. It uses both light and deep, precise movements that target lymph nodes and vessels to reduce swelling, improve tissue health, calm the nervous system, and enhance detoxification.

It is especially supportive during post-operative recovery, pre- and post-natal stages, periods of stress or inflammation, or anytime the body feels heavy, puffy, or congested.

  • Most people benefit from lymphatic drainage because modern lifestyles — stress, inactivity, surgery, inflammation, illness, hormonal shifts, or even long hours sitting — can slow lymphatic movement. When lymph flow is reduced, the body can experience bloating, puffiness, fatigue, tension, swelling, slowed recovery, or a general sense of heaviness.

    Lymphatic drainage helps to:
    • reduce inflammation and fluid retention
    • support tissue healing and recovery
    • improve circulation and immune function
    • calm the nervous system
    • enhance contour and tone
    • promote clearer, lighter, more balanced body function

Lymphatic drainage is a supportive therapy for anyone seeking recovery, restoration, or radiance.

  • Lymphatic drainage does not “detox the body” in place of its natural systems. Instead, it supports the pathways your body already uses to clear fluid, cellular waste, inflammatory by-products, and metabolic debris.

The lymphatic and glymphatic systems are key components of the body’s detoxification network.
When these systems move more freely, clients often experience:

    • reduced swelling or congestion
    • improved clarity and energy
    • enhanced post-surgical comfort
    • softer tissue and better circulation
    • a general feeling of “lightness” or ease

So while the treatment itself isn’t performing a detox, it optimizes the conditions in which your body’s own detoxification processes naturally function.

  • The lymphatic system is your body’s natural detoxification and fluid-regulation network. It helps move immune cells, proteins, and waste products through a delicate system of vessels and lymph nodes. Because it has no internal pump, the system relies on breath, movement, and manual stimulation to keep fluid flowing.

Lymphatic therapy uses rhythmic, and directional techniques to:
    • Encourage lymph flow and reduce excess fluid
    • Support the immune system
    • Calm the nervous system and shift the body into “rest and digest”
    • Reduce inflammation and swelling (especially post-surgery)
    • Improve circulation in the skin and fascia
    • Support the glymphatic system — the brain’s waste-clearance pathway

  • Lymphatic therapy helps reduce swelling, fluid retention, and inflammation, while supporting detoxification, digestion, immune health, and stress relief. Many clients notice immediate results such as feeling lighter, less puffy, more relaxed, and more energized.

  • Lymphatic therapy can benefit anyone looking to support their health, beauty, or recovery. It is often sought by clients experiencing chronic stress or fatigue, digestive issues, post-surgical swelling, pregnancy-related changes, or those simply wanting to enhance their natural glow.

  • Lymphatic drainage is not recommended if you have certain conditions such as acute infections, untreated cancer, blood clots, or uncontrolled heart/kidney issues. A brief intake form is completed before every session, and we may request medical clearance if needed.

  • Treatments are deeply relaxing. You’ll lie comfortably on a treatment table while gentle or deep (dependent on reason for treatment), rhythmic movements are applied to stimulate lymphatic flow.

  • Wear loose, comfortable clothing and arrive well-hydrated. Avoid heavy meals or alcohol beforehand. After your session, continue to hydrate to support your body’s natural detox process. You will receive specific before/after care recommendations upon booking.

  • The number of sessions depends on your goals. Some clients book a single session before a special event, while others benefit from a series to support recovery, chronic conditions, or long-term wellness. We’ll discuss a personalized plan during your visit.

  • Yes, with appropriate modifications. We offer tailored treatments for pre/post-natal clients and post-surgical recovery. In these cases, medical clearance may be required to ensure your safety.

  • Yes — you can book individual treatments or purchase packages if you’d like ongoing support. Packages may offer cost savings and are ideal for clients with longer-term wellness or recovery goals.

  • Receipts are available, but coverage depends on your health benefits plan. Some insurance providers may cover lymphatic drainage as part of an extended wellness benefits package. Please check with your insurer directly. We do not provide direct billing to your insurance company.

  • We are located in Cobden, Ontario, in a serene and private home-based treatment space designed to support relaxation and healing. Directions will be provided in your booking confirmation.

Please be advised I have a dog named Ringo on site and while the treatment room is kept immaculately clean I cannot keep it 100% allergen free.
